the drive to palm springs...

the drive to palm springs is really pretty.

once you pass the endless LA suburbs you forget existed, the neighborhoods nestled between countless exits you'll probably never take begin to look less strip mall americana and more small town desert vibe. auto parks convert into rusty train tracks, the man-planted trees ease into random windblown palms and prickly cacti.

it's quite a sight. so on our way into palm springs i made josh stop and take some photos. actually, i warned him of this days before, that morning and a few times during the 1.5 hour drive. he was more or less happy to oblige. my mom stayed in the car and occupied the boys, happy to be behind-the-scenes of my blog. she's the best.

we left LA around 6:30AM that morning and i directed the shoot in my head until we reached THE SPOT (i.e. the location i envisioned for our planned detour). it was a crazy windy morning but as luck would have it i had my hair in crown braids. otherwise this whole outfit post would have been a huge fail... and perhaps only slightly less pointless...

well, that was fun. be sure and stay tuned for more photos from palm springs. and thanks again to my mom + josh for letting me prance around the desert. i could not execute such silliness without your love, support + patience.

on me:

dress (sold out similar here and here, moroccan slippers + crown braid by dry bar

OH YEAH. i wrote basically an entire post about my pink sunglasses here!

xoxo,
