here we broad again!

it is currently 97 degrees out. we angelenos are MELTING. the first week of summer this year certainly isn't messing around. and moan and groan all we want, we all knew it was coming. just a matter of when. and now it's finally here. so while i mentally adjust to sweating all of the time and getting more tan than i'd like, it was refreshing to look back on our trip to the broad a few weekends ago when the temperature was brisk and the skies were cloudy. i hesitated to write about the broad again, but like i said, it's nice to remember that this heat wave will eventually pass. so until that happens, here are a few photos for you from our day at the broad. again!

this museum never gets old. it houses bold, loud and colorful pieces. the art is quite literally larger than life, like this stack of plates taller than myself! next time i promise to take a photo of myself next to it for reference.

just past the plates is this magical elevator that takes you to the main level where most of the pieces are... or take the escalator if you don't have a stroller with you.

and then comes the challenging part of admiring the art, encouraging your kids to admire the art but oh yea can you please not touch anything? here i am practically begging max to restrain himself from being a total 3-year-old.

please note the death grip.

i mean dude.

modern art balloons. i am so f'ed right? thankfully the universe cut me a break. max only made contact with a less supervised piece of art. sorry broad. i really tried.

had to say wassup to my twin. max did not see a resemblance. hrmph.

life imitating art.

just one of our favorites...

cliché much?

we managed to get one good snap before i had to swoop in just before max sat on the rope fence. toddler photography is truly an art within itself.

museum going with little ones can be a pretty physically and mentally exhausting experience, as you can see. we had a good run though (ha ha). but after an hour it was seriously time to go.

and time to let these kids run around.

thankfully, just next to the broad is a big lawn where the kids can chase eachother and scream and it the BEST.

also, how fun are knox's pants?!

anyone else into pins? well i am! this little gem is my most recent purchase! the only downside is the boys really love pulling it off and i almost lost it twice. toddler life.

after we got all our wiggles out and couldn't squeal anymore, we took the long way back to our car. we zig zagged through the city streets enjoying the last days of spring, wearing layers and shoes without socks, and each other. and now it's hot as hell and this all feels like forever ago. stay cool sunshines. and never forget: fall is inevitable. meanwhile, pass the sunscreen + embrace margaritas. they really help.

xoxo, sony!
