a night out in noli

hola!

so  this date night business is starting to become a regular thing and i am of course loving it! during our stay in san diego for thanksgiving, my mom was awesome enough to watch the little guys so we could have a night out. and oh how i had missed hanging out with my cheeky in the town where we met and spent many a wild night. well, we didn't exactly revisit the glory days because man that kind of was exhausting but had a tame night bar hopping in the northern section of little italy, or cutely dubbed noli.

we started off with mexican food at el camino. cool spot. lot's of urban mexican american art and graffiti on the walls. and i was for a brief period transfixed on their el camino tv station. yea i will not even begin to explain. but bottom line with this place: next time i will for sure sit on the patio and always, ALWAYS order the potato tacos. DAMN GOOD.

i couldn't resist. the back of this top is just so good.

next up: the crack shack. it's a bar + restaurant designed as a chicken coop. i had never seen anything like it. but can someone please make more? cave bar next? ooh. bird's nest.

my abbey road shot, finally! would have been perfect if the chairs weren't there. and no chicken head jokes, please.

oh yeah. my brother andre was there too and as usual trying to one-up me. it must be the younger sibling thing.

last stop: the fancy bar, aka kettner exchange. this place kind of reminded me of that bar near club hedonism back in the day and what it used to be like when i had to hang out with a bunch of law school kids. it was a bit try-hard for my taste but the roof was really pretty and the decor was cool.

by this point it was either home or order fries. we went home. the rest is a bit of a blur. thanks noli! we're out!
